Just curious to know if anyone here has tried advertising via Google, Facebook or any other search engine options -- If so, do you have any tips?
We're still pretty old school, much of our work is word of mouth, but we're open to new ideas.
Thanks.

I have a website, it was a lot of work but it does generate work for me now even in winter. The local community papper is the best one, especially in spring. A website can be good to show people photos of your work. More importantly you want people to be able to find you by through google.

Cant say all that im doing as I like to think that im staying one step a head of everyone else.
As its been so wet I don't even try to mow anything so its time to clean up the gear, service what you can and get the shop to do what you cant.
yes its going to cost you but you only get out of your business what you put in. Your gear is your money maker and without it your stuffed, its money will spent or hope that it dosnt pack up in spring/summer time when your flat out - I bet then you would be thinking that you wish you should have got your gear serviced - some people need to learn the hard way.
Getting a bigger truck as ive out growing ute and trailer so they will be up for sale soon and will look at doing new signs for it and wife's car.
Im making sure that website is ranking high. (if you have a website the get it listed on every free site that you can to get back links) Join this forum as it will give you a back link (everyone helps)
Ive started taking bookings for extra spring work (what dose everyone complane about in spring)
Its all about working smarter not harder

Totally agreed, work smarter, reinvest in business and learn all the time. Mowing won't ever be boring for me as there is always a challenge in expanding one's business. Not sure if I would educate the competition if they lived around the corner.
